Lollipop Chart with Labels above the Bar

You might be familiar with Lollipop Charts and also to display labels above the bar in the simple bar chart. How about combining them?

  1. Connect to Sample Superstore data. Change the Mark to a Bar.
  2. Drag Region to Rows and Sales to Columns. We get a Simple Bar chart.
  3. Write an infield calculation AVG(0). Drag AVG(0) on the X axis and then create a Shared Axis. Change Mark type to a Line.
  4. Drag Measure Names to Path. Drag Region and SUM(Sales) to Label. In Label, Choose Line Ends and Check Label start of line.
  5. Drag SUM(Sales) to Columns. Right-click on SUM(Sales) -> Dual Axis. Change the Mark to a Circle. Synchronize the Axes. If everything goes well, you should see something as shown below
